COME SING WITH US! Annual auditions for the 2012 - 2013 Mercer University Children's Choirs season will be held on the following days and times:Friday, August 10 5:00 - 7:00Saturday, August 11 10:00 - 12:00 & 1:00 - 3:00Sunday, August 12 2:00 - 4:00Thursday, August 16 4:30 - 6:00Auditions will be held in the Townsend School of Music McCorkle Music Building (1329 Adams Street) on the campus of Mercer University. Boys (with unchanged voices) and girls in grades 3 - 12 are invited to sing in the choirs. For the audition, the chorister should prepare a familiar song (Happy Birthday, My Country 'tis of Thee, Amazing Grace, for example) to be sung for the conductors. After performing the prepared song, the choristers will be asked to vocalize, read rhythms, and sight sing. Auditions are held on a first-come, first-served basis.We promise an beautiful year of musical events which include our annual Christmas and Spring concerts, singing for community events, and an annual tour for the singers in the Touring Choir.Rehearsals are held weekly every Thursday from 4:30 - 6:00 (5:45 for Preparatory Choir) at the Townsend School of Music. The first rehearsal of the season will be Thursday, August 23.
